We may earn rupees one lakh per month, there will be a person earning two lakhs. We may buy one of the costliest cars available in the market; there will be a new model, a better one probably the very next day. We may build a beautiful
mansion, with all luxury and comforts. The very next day when our mind gets something awesome, it says we mightn’t have built it this way, that way would have been better. Where is the end? At one stage or other we need to feel satisfied with what we have. That is the way, otherwise mind becomes a pressure cooker and life becomes miserable.

Most often when our desires become unfulfilled we start blaming everyone, even God; we say I have done many pujas, visited the temples every day, read religious books but why didn’t you fulfill my desire. Some even go to an extent of saying, “Why thou have created me?” some say, “I don’t believe in the God, who has not fulfilled my wish.” What we desire may not always be good to us upon fulfillment. May be our thought might have originated out of envy or jealousy for others. “Daylight and darkness, dusk and dawn, winter and springtime come and go. Time plays and life ebbs away. But the storm of desire never leaves.”

– Says Sri Adi Sankaracharya in ‘Bhaja Govindam’

Once I saw a lady with white marks on her face, it’s actually due to lack of a
vitamin which turns the skin white makes one look awkward. My heart then sent a strong signal to my mind, I realised, how often we feel unhappy of not possessing, not acquiring or accomplishing something but never think that though “God has not given me Millions of rupees first of all he has given me good body, good health, all my body parts are functioning normally, he has given us parents, how many orphans are lying there on the streets uncared, how many people have lost their arms and legs or born with some disorder. “ I realised, though I am not a muti-millionaire is there any reason to worry.

What if, the other person goes in a ‘Bently’, I’ll go in "Nano" what difference it makes so long as I have got that intellect to discriminate what is right or wrong, good health, Faith in myself, Faith in God and a smile on my face.

Swami Vivekananda puts it beautifully,

When I Asked God for Strength
He Gave Me Difficult Situations to Face

When I Asked God for Brain & Brown
He Gave Me Puzzles in Life to Solve

When I Asked God for Happiness
He Showed Me Some Unhappy People

When I Asked God for Wealth
He Showed Me How to Work Hard

When I Asked God for Favors
He Showed Me Opportunities to Work Hard

When I Asked God for Peace
He Showed Me How to Help Others

God Gave Me Nothing I Wanted
He Gave Me Everything I Needed

Life itself is a teacher; our experience itself is our guide. Life teaches us many things if we start observing the things and people around us as a witness.
